Laser Skin Resurfacing Aberdeen
If you’re looking for laser skin resurfacing near Aberdeen at an award-winning clinic, we’d love to hear from you at Ever Clinic. Fully Ablative Laser skin resurfacing is by far the most powerful skin rejuvenation technique available for facial skin. This procedure is available for patients that are looking to renew facial skin and restore confidence. Moreover, the procedure is highly recommended for removing wrinkles and improving skin texture and other signs of ageing. The type of laser surfacing we provide is fully ablative and is performed by our Medical Director at Ever Clinic – Dr Cormac.
Too appropriately and safely treat, surgical grade lasers are required. At Ever Clinic we only use Sciton Joule X and Lumenis Ultrapulse. These are incredibly expensive machines, costing around £130k each, with the technology to delivery the correct level of ablation to achieve a result the patient is happy with. Other machines such as the C02RE, Deka Smartide and Alma Pixel are cheaper aesthetic grade lasers which require little or no skill to operate and are vastly underpowered so unable to provide a satisfactory level of result. Have a look at some of the before and afters on our website along with the short video of the procedure to decide for yourself.
A special type of local anaesthetic is used for this facial laser surgery procedure. Lax skin around the eyes and wrinkles can also be treated to achieve a more youthful appearance. Very few surgeons can perform what Dr Cormac can. He performs remarkable skin rejuvenation.
There is one major advantage of this procedure: it is permanent. As soon as the healing process is complete, you are left with your new skin. In contrast to other cosmetic treatments like dermal fillers, Botox, or even fractional resurfacing, this procedure does not require repetition. Taking good care of the skin will result in long-lasting results for many years before anything else needs to be done.

What’s the step by step procedure for this treatment?
Step 1
Before any treatment can be agreed too, it’s essential that we meet you for a 1 to 1 consultation at our clinic. It’s important for us to get to know your expectations around the procedure and for us to be fully transparent about all procedure details. Here, we will discuss the potential risks & side effects, results you can expect from the treatment and answer any outstanding questions you may have for us. It’s also important for us to assess whether the treatment is 100% appropriate for our patients as we have a duty of care that we take very seriously.
Step 2
On the day of procedure, you will then have another brief consultation with Dr Cormac that will just clarify what’s about to happen. During this consultation, a consent form will be passed over to the patient to sign that clarifies that we have permission to carry out the procedure. We’re now ready to start the actual procedure and we’ll fully prepare by cleansing the face thoroughly and providing a special topical anaesthetic gel. The preparation will last for around 45 minutes and following this, you’ll be kindly be taken into the procedure room.
Step 3
After eyedrops and metal contact lenses have been inserted, the fully ablative laser procedure will now begin. The treatment in full will normally take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour, although it may be slightly longer in some cases. During the procedure, there may be a prickly burning sensation that you’ll experience but this is common and is very manageable. The pain can be described as moderate at the most. Please check out the above before and after photos to see the results and the impact this procedure could have.
Step 4
After treatment is complete, it’s common to experience a hot and burning sensation that may last for up to 24 hours. Dr Cormac and the team will give you step by instructions on how to best look after yourself and your skin in the coming weeks and month.
FAQ’s About Laser Resurfacing Treatments in Aberdeen
What are ablative lasers?
Ablative lasers are lasers that remove the thin outer layer of the skin (epidermis) and heats the underlying skin (dermis). Thanks to our industry-leading ablative lasers, the growth of new collagen fibers are stimulated and the treated area appears much more tighter and smoother. There are a few different types of ablative laser that are commonly used but for our laser skin resurfacing treatments near Aberdeen, we use the C02 and erbium:YAG, both in the fully ablative form rather than fractional.
What is laser skin resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing is one of the best treatments for improving the appearance of skin. Laser skin resurfacing near Aberdeen is a highly effective method for eliminating wrinkles and flattening protruding acne scars. Furthermore, it’s also effective for treating sun damaged skin. The treatment allows for precision and a high level of safety throughout.
How long does it take to recover after treatment?
You’ll be glad to know that it doesn’t take long at all to completely recover from the treatment. Normally only one week of downtime is necessary and required. However, this can vary from person to person and we’ll instruct you professionally with the best aftercare.
