HIFU Treatment (Non-Surgical Facelift) in Merchant City, Glasgow

Facelift treatments without the surgery. The Hifu facelifts we treat in Glasgow really are something else. Are you ready to experience the fantastic results of our non-surgical facelift from HIFU technology?

Sending focused ultrasound waves to different depths of the skin we can tighten different layers to tighten and lift the skin. The layers we are targeting are the same layers as when a plastic surgeon goes in with a scalpel, except with HIFU there’s no knife and no downtime!

Technology has vastly improved in the HIFU arena in very very recent times. Previous technology had patient sitting through one session and then seeing results in three months times. Ever Clinic’s technology is so advanced that results can be seen from the first session in most cases. We recommend a course of three treatments to help you realise optimal results, all spaced one month apart.

If you feel your face is beginning to sag, jowls are showing and you need a boost then HIFU may be for you.

Your questions about HIFU answered

What is HIFU?

HIFU is an acronym for high intensity focused ultrasound. It is a non-invasive form of therapeutic treatment. The non-ionizing ultrasound waves target layers of the skin just beneath the surface. The ultrasonic energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly. This helps activate the cells to produce more collagen — a protein that gives structure to the skin.

How does HIFU work?

HIFU works by sending ultrasound energy down to different layers of the skin. The SMAS layer is heated up, shrinks, and tightens. This causes the upper layer of skin to lift and tighten. It also stimulates new and existing collagen and elastin to improve the final result. HIFU can be used to treat a wide range of areas, including cheek, jawline, neck, forehead, and around the eyes. You can treat individual areas or all of them in one session.

How long does a HIFU session take?

Treatment sessions last between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the area of treatment. Some clients may see immediate results from the treatment, while some may take longer to produce more collagen. For the best results, we recommend at least two sessions, spaced one month apart.

When will I see results from a HIFU treatment session?

For most, the results are instant. For some clients, the body can take several weeks to replace its existing collagen with stronger collagen. For optimal results that are sustained over long periods, we recommend a course of treatments that are divided into 3 sessions. You may want to schedule a touch-up treatment every year after your initial treatment has shown results to maintain the beneficial effects.

How long do results from HIFU last?

After the initial treatment, you may see an effect shortly after, but the ultimate result will take place over several weeks, as your body naturally regenerates collagen. Following the post-treatment directions provided by our HIFU clinician, results may last as long as 24 months. You may want to schedule a touch-up treatment every year after your initial treatments have shown results to maintain your results.

Can HIFU damage your skin?

The American Society for Dermatological Surgery published a study in 2012 showing that HIFU is safe and effective for treating knees, inner thighs, and upper arms with improved skin texture and contour.

What age is best for HIFU?
Not everyone is a candidate for HIFU. A patient older than 30 who suffers from mild to moderate laxity of the skin benefits most from the procedure. If the skin is photodamaged or if it is highly loose, several treatments may be required.
What is the number of HIFU sessions you need?
Two HIFU treatments spaced six months apart are recommended in the first year for optimal results. The results of the treatment can be maintained by one additional treatment per year. Three months after the initial treatment, you might require additional treatments on trickier areas.
Is HIFU effective in reducing face fat?
With the correct handpieces, HIFU can reduce fat deposits on the face or body. Fats on the face, such as jowls, double chins, and fat cheeks, can be reduced with HIFU treatments.
Is HIFU more effective than thread lift?
A thread lift is a better alternative to HIFU for those who want immediate results and can tolerate needles in their faces. Due to the fact that HIFU penetrates deep into the skin, results take longer to appear because it increases collagen production gradually.
HIFU therapy has the following disadvantages:
  • Data on long-term outcomes (20-30 years) are not available.
  • Impotence and urinary incontinence may impact one’s quality of life.
How does HIFU affect the body?

Erectile dysfunction (erectile dysfunction) and urinary problems are the most common side effects. You may have urinary problems if you have HIFU more than once, but there do not appear to be other side effects.
